When graphite arrived on the scene in the mid 70s, Scott founder Harry Wilson's light envisioned a long light line rod using the new rod blank material. When he told friends in the fly fishing community about his idea, they said it could not be done. Not to be deterred, Wilson forged ahead. After many challenges and attempts, Scott released the first 9 foot 4 line graphite rod. It changed fly fishing.
