Beginner & Intermediate Combined Casting Class
Beginner class - Intro to Fly Fishing morning
FFF-certified casting Instructor Wayne Stinnette will be teaching this portion of the class for absolute beginners. He will introduce beginners to the sport of Fly Fishing. Includes:
- equipment set-up, basic knots, different types of flies and their uses fly casting basics for superior line control Equipment provided for beginner class (not for intermediate class)
Intermediate class - immediately following the Beginner class
FFF-certified Instructor Stinnette will continue to build on the morning lessons. You will be exposed to more details of fly fishing in a real moving water setting (either a location in or near Lynchburg on the James River or Staunton River, or at our Rivenridge at Piney Forks, our private trout lodge in the George Washington National Forest), depending on which location has better water levels. You can expect to learn how to roll cast, pile cast, reach cast, plus how to avoid tailing loops, and will receive an introduction to the double haul used often in saltwater or distance situations.
Goal of casting class is to teach you how to catch fish in a variety of situations.
Price: $149 per person includes Beginner am, Intermediate late AM and afternoon, and gear rental if necessary
Location: Meet at Anglers Lane at 8:30 am.
