DIRECTIONS TO RIVENRIDGE @ PINEY FORKS

From: Lynchburg & points south

From Rt 29 drive to Amherst and take US Rte 60 West

Stay on US-60 for 6 miles west of Amherst to Lowesville Rd., Rt 778.

Right onto Lowesville Rd (Rte 778). Travel around 6 miles+ until you reach a bridge crossing the Piney River; you will see Riverview General Store on your left. Between Riverview General Store and the river, turn left onto Rte 666.

Stay on this road along the Piney on your right, and count the bridges; not counting the bridge at Riverview General Store, you will pass 2 bridges.

Turn right over the Piney River onto the 3rd bridge ~ 2.8 miles after Riverview General Store. After crossing the bridge the road now is named Woodson Rd , the Piney River is now on your left. Pass Piney River Baptist Church and travel a little over a mile. Pass a row of houses on your right, then veer left on the paved road at the fork as it crosses back over the Piney (at which point road name becomes Perkins Mill Rd).

The river is again on your right and will remain on your right until you reach Rivenridge.

After ~ 2.4 miles, the road turns to gravel and name changes again (ignore name of road* —stay on same road to left of the river).

After another mile (0.9 mile actually), you enter the National Forest.

Then after another 0.9 mile, you will turn RIGHT onto Clubhouse Rd (road sign may be down). Our #177 should be on the tree. Open gate as directed by shop. Drive 300 yards and cross OVER the S. Fork of the Piney River and should see Rivenridge sign. Pass through second gate (same shop combo) and continue 50 yds, bearing left around the pond up to the lodge.

DIRECTIONS TO RIVENRIDGE @ PINEY FORKS - FROM North, Charlottesville 177 Clubhouse Rd - Lowesville, VA

Take 29 South from Charlottesville through Lovingston. Several miles south of Lovingston, take a right onto 56-West to the community of Piney River. Drive several miles until you hit Rte 151. Turn left onto Rte 151, and after approximately 100 yards take an immediate right onto Lowesville Rd aka Rte 778. Stay on Lowesville Rd until reach the Piney River, which you cross. Riverview General Store will be just ahead. Immediately after crossing the Piney, turn right onto Rte 666 which parallels the Piney. Stay on this road along the Piney on your right, and count the bridges; not counting the bridge at Riverview General Store, you will pass 2 bridges.

[Coming from the West] take I-81 Lexington-Buena Vista Exit onto 60 East

Follow GPS directions to Piney River Baptist Church, Lowesville VA. Simple way will take you on US 60 East to Rte 778 Lowesville Rd. North on 778 Lowesville Rd 6 miles to Riverview General Store in Piney River. Left at Riverview General Store. 2.8 miles along River on Rte 666.
