FLOAT
TRIPS:
After the float plane has dropped you and your
guide off to the remote spot of the day, he will guide
you on a john boat powered by a jet engine to access otherwise unreachable waters and maximize

LODGE
AND ACCOMMODATIONS:
Bristol Bay Lodge is nestled on the shoreline of
majestic Lake Aleknagik, the heart of Alaska's finest
fishing region. Guests stay in rooms in the main
lodge buildings or in one of four out cabins
which are generally used by special sized groups
or families. Out cabins have living rooms, separate bedrooms and full baths.
The living and dinning rooms, overlooking Lake Aleknagik and the scenic surrounding mountains, are tastefully furnished and and decorated with fish, waterfowl and mammal mounts, Alaskan artifacts, and treasured mementos and photos collected over the years.
Begin each day with a fisherman's breakfast -cooked to order- and feast streamside on shore lunches prepared by your guides.
Two days during
the trip feature stays at comfortable outcamps. Each of the two camps has its own distinct charm and fishing style.
For each camp you will have a cook and two guides. The sleeping tents, heated and waterproof weatherports on platforms, are comfortably outfitted with beds and light mattresses. Quality sleeping bags with sheet and fleece liners, pillows, linens and additional amenities make nights cozy and comfortable. The dining/cook tent is spacious (for pre-dinner gathering and/or after dinner fly tying or games) and contains all the necessities for the preparation of excellent hearty meals.
Guests fish other rivers during the day, fly in to the camps about 5 PM , spend a 24 hour period there, then return to the lodge. Camp stays are two nonconsecutive nights out of the week. |
